I thought it would be a good idea to start the New Year with a round up of the best bits from 2011, and a preview of what’s new in 2012. Actually, that’s a complete lie. I originally wrote a highly amusing retelling of how the OH started off the New Year with an energetic hunt for shoe polish, but he has finally clipped my wings and refused permission to publish on the grounds that I exaggerate and make him look bad. So instead, you get my roundup of popular posts about the rest of us looking foolish, and anyone who wishes for a copy of the banned post will have to email me privately and promise faithfully to burn after reading..

Most viewed posts in 2011 included:

Last year demonstrated your love of disasters and public humiliation, (a theme which will continue unabated), 2012 will also be peppered with vital information for relocating innocents at home and abroad. We are be developing our resource section with information on careers abroad, repatriation and a country by country recommended link page, and for those who are searching for relocation guidance, there is a whole set of checklists coming soon to supplement the Basics section.

Last years top information posts (in case you missed them) were:

How to win friends and introduce people

Ways we make identity theft easier

Best Apps for expats

How to be the perfect host

10 steps to planning your estate

And while the “Basics” section don’t get sent to you in the newsletters, they are constantly added to and updated, and I’m always delighted to hear suggestions, comments and feedback – either in the comments box at the bottom of each post page, or using the Contact form for the Basics..

I look forward to hearing from you!

Enjoy!
